Sustainability at Green Solutions

Sustainability has been an official part of our business strategy since 2024. As a wholesaler of garden and houseplants, we work with living products that are highly dependent on natural conditions and reliable supply chains. For this reason, we feel a responsibility to contribute to a future-proof world for our customers, suppliers, and future generations.

In 2024, we took our first steps towards structured sustainability reporting. We assessed our environmental impact, explored social topics such as working conditions and training, and underwent an independent SMETA audit. We also began collecting data on energy consumption, waste streams, and CO₂ emissions. This forms the foundation for further improvement and transparency.

In 2025, we built on this foundation by further embedding sustainability into our daily operations. We improved the quality and scope of our reporting and established concrete CO₂ reduction targets. We also implemented practical measures, including improved waste separation, the electrification of our vehicle fleet, and the formalisation of policies relating to human rights and business ethics.

In 2026, we submitted our climate targets to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for validation. We are proud that these targets have been approved.

Green Solutions B.V. commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and scope 2 GHG emissions 42% by 2030 from a 2024 base year, and to measure and reduce its scope 3 emissions.

Quality at Green Solutions

At Green Solutions, quality is central to everything we do. This applies to our product selection, logistics, customer interactions, and our responsibilities within the supply chain. We work with living products that require the utmost care, full traceability, and reliability. That’s why we continuously invest in improving our processes and obtaining recognized certifications and assessments.

Our certifications and assessments not only serve as proof of quality but also highlight our commitment to safety, transparency, and sustainability throughout the entire chain.

AEO (Authorised Economic Operator)

Green Solutions holds the AEO-F certification, which means we meet strict requirements in customs procedures, safety, administration, and financial reliability. This status, granted by European customs authorities, enables faster and safer international trade—benefiting both our company and our customers.

GLOBALG.A.P. Chain of Custody

This certification ensures that products sold as sustainably or responsibly grown are truly traceable to their origin. The Chain of Custody certification guarantees transparency and integrity throughout the entire supply chain, from grower to customer.

SMETA Assessment

In 2024 and 2025, Green Solutions was assessed according to the four-pillar SMETA standard. This independent audit evaluates our performance in labor, health and safety, environment, and ethics. The results confirm our commitment to responsible business practices, with no critical non-compliances found.

EcoVadis

We assess and report on our ESG (environment, social and governance) performance through EcoVadis, a global leader in business sustainability assessments.

In our latest rating, which was completed March 2026, we earned a 'Committed' badge which demonstrates our progress toward sustainability.
